Our story

It began in 1992, when Eclipse Instrumentation was founded with a clear mission: to bring safe, reliable, and surgeon-friendly electrosurgical generators to India. Eclipse became a trusted name across specialties, helping popularise cautery in hospitals that were only beginning to adopt energy-based surgery.

Eclipse’s expertise in electrosurgery converged with Prism’s strength in advanced OT lighting to form a unified manufacturing powerhouse: EPMD (Eclipse-Prism Medical Devices). The merger combined decades of engineering knowledge, optical innovation, and clinical insight, enabling the new entity to design and build complete operating-room technologies under one roof.

As demand grew, we built the next pillar of our ecosystem:
Matrix Medicals Pvt. Ltd., incorporated in 2007, created to manage rising sales volumes, expand our reach, and penetrate the Indian market deeply — right down to Tier-3 cities. Matrix quickly evolved into the engine of our group, driving distribution, dealer networks, branding, exports, and long-term partnerships.

That same year, we established SurgiKare India, our dedicated service division committed to fast, reliable doorstep support, preventive maintenance, and essential accessories. This ensured that every unit installed under the Matrix banner was backed by immediate care through an India-wide network.
